Public Health Sustainable Advocacy Initiative (PHSAI)

PHSAI Advocacy program started in 2015 when it was initiated to provide advocacy support to the Ministry of Health and Primary Health Care Board on Family Planning issues. Lagos State has a policy of free Family planning services, but implementation of this policy faced several challenges at the PHCs, although family planning commodities were provided free to women who needed them the women had to pay for the consumables required to administer Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC).

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

PHSAI’s Board of Trustees is the policy-formulating body of the organization. The policies of the Board are implemented by the PHSAI Executive Council (Exco) headed by the Chairman. The Board and the Exco consult from time to time with members of PHSAI on its policies and programmes including issues affecting the public health sector in Nigeria.

The Board of Trustees is responsible and accountable to members of PHSAI on everything that PHSAI does. It agrees and monitors the achievements of PHSAI’s Mission, vision, strategy and plans. The Board of trustees consists of two males and two females.
